Okay, this is a happy moment.
I fixed the washing machine. I tried this a few weeks back and nothing worked right then (got it working though), but today the thing just fell apart again. I popped open the front cover, the motor was (this time) easy to remove, I super-glued the bottom pulley back together, and it was running again in 30 minutes. The squeak and rattle are gone. And it looks like this time they'll stay gone!
What's your recent victory?

So I've been sorta-kinda told that I'll bring into the world a job in D.C. waiting for me when I graduate (don't ask, hunger hi). I planned on unfixed there after undergrad anyways, but this makes it more qualified that I transfer pick up stakes and go to Washington.

I scarcity to get wind of unprejudiced everyday info. hither D.C. Basically, whatever comes to your mind. What's detached connected with it? Is it vibrant, lots of restaurants/bars/etc. around? Does it bring into the world foot transport ahunger the lines of NYC or LA or Chicago (not pregnant it to be as blunt as those)?

I judge the essential questions are "Is it a avail mission to lodge" and "Do you/did you charge out of living in D.C.".

Again, deem without to ifiable jiggle off whatever comes to mind. Thanks in advance.

Maybe the problem is that I expected it to be easy and learned too late that is extremely challenging. The difficulty of life combined with the disapointment brought by major experience (love, work, friendship) keeps me up or makes me bury my head under the pillow.

I think my friends mum used to work there but I'm not sure. Her dad would help her mum in the basement changing the barrels and he heard a young girl cry next to him when no one was in the pub. Like I said I'm not sure if this is the right pub but I'll ask her and let you know. Even I'm stumped at the seven stars lol.

So my mum went on a ghost walk not long ago and was told about the bricked up window at the back of Foulds. I'm looking for any information on it, anything at all really. It got me thinking so now I really want to know lol.

I have always been into the paranormal. Or rather it has always been into me. I say this due to the experience I had when I was young soon after my uncle passed away.

My mother explained to me that she had heard me speaking to someone, but upon entering the bedroom and finding me in the closet, I simply said, "I'm talking to Uncle Brent." But that was not my only experience. It was in the winter of 2002 when I was in seventh grade (about 12 years old). I and a few of my friends were on our way to orchestra practice, as we had a concert a few nights away.

The classroom, where we assumed the practice was being held, is positioned in a small hallway directly behind the auditorium with a door in the wall opposite which led to the stage. When we approached the classroom we discovered that we were due in the auditorium instead for a sort of "dress rehearsal". We then realized that the door to the stage had been left open for us.
When we entered the auditorium through the backstage, the backstage lights were off with the curtain slightly open revealing the house seating, in which the lights were turned on. The backstage was dim, the only light being provided from the house, so we moved cautiously, fearing we may trip on a rope or cord, or, by chance, found one of the stairways on either side of the stage.

We were approaching the curtain and the front of the stage and it was not as dim so I felt safe to look up and view my surroundings. As I raised my head I noticed a dark shape lurking in the shadows, but still visible in the house lights. It resembled the size and shape of larger man, but it wasn't solid. It was more or less a shadow man, for lack of a better description. And based on my friends reactions, they were seeing it as well. He stood there in a position that suggested we weren't the only ones staring and then turned and walked down the stairs on the left side of the stage.

We proceeded, rather quickly I might add, to the front of the stage to meet the other people that were in the orchestra class. Not believing our story, despite the four or five of us that saw it, they decided to go check it out for themselves, and I decided to go along. So we went back through the curtains to go look at the stairs the entity went down and discovered there was no one there! And there was no evidence to support any theory of a person having recently been in that area! We stayed at the top of the stairs while one of my friends proceeded down the stairs to examine the downstairs area, where no one obviously had been in quite some time.

We were spooked but we still had a practice and despite our teacher not being there at the moment, we decided to back out into the house and tuning up our instruments. So she came back upstairs and we turned to go back out to the front of the stage and became caught in the gaze of the shadow man on the opposite side of the stage! And just as before, it gazed at us for a moment and went down the stairs on the right side of the stage. I was astounded that we had actually seen it again.

After the initial shock, we were becoming more and more interested in this being. We attempted to communicate with no such luck. But as we went back out into the house and walked around the first few rows of seats we spoke to it hoping for a response. As we stood there waiting, the shadow man walked through the shadows behind the last row of seats.

It was one of the most frightening and interesting experiences of my life, and it definitely is not the last.

Thank you for reading.

Our family is one of many Lebanese families that lives in Ghana/ West Africa. A number of incidents occurred to me and my family earlier on this year that were sort of weird and scary to a certain extent.

The first incident involved lighting striking a coconut tree in the garden just a few meters outside my bedroom. This incident was followed by another one two days later.

Where I work is noisy, and so I sometimes used to make my phone calls in a relatively quiet and distant electrical room full of computer panels and equipment. As as I entered this room to make a phone call two days after the first incident, I could smell the scent of a wire mass. As soon as I tried to leave the room in order to call on the electrician in charge to try and check things out, one of the panels exploded and I could see successive powerful sparks that caused one panel to go ablaze. As if this was not enough. I was watching a movie in my living room in the evening a few days later, I heard a strong "bang". As I rushed to check on its cause, I realized that the summer heart in the garden, and under which one watchman and dog normally sat, had collapsed while they were both sitting underneath. Upon removing the wreckage, we found the watchman to have sustained minor injuries considering the weight of the roof, whereas the dog had not been affected at all. The watchman recovered from his injuries, but appeared to have lost his mind after the incident.

As if all of this was not enough again, and as we were sleeping a few days after the third incident, I, my brother and his wife, and my other brother, who slept in separate rooms, all woke up to the noise of plates crashing. The noise was so loud we all woke up almost simultaneously. It appeared to have come from under the house. We immediately went downstairs to check out what had happened, and found the two watchmen on duty to be fast asleep. They obviously did not hear the noise. We combed the whole area under and around the house, but could not find anything unusual.

These are a series of consecutive weird events that happened at a time when I had a constant feeling that a bad spell had been cast on us. It is amazing how all this time I felt that there was something evil haunting us, a feeling which I had not felt so strongly before. And for some reason, I seriously believe that there is something unnatural about all of what had happened, and that they are all connected incidents.

When we lived in Canberra 1990 we rented a house that I felt had a presence. My children always said they saw something walking around at night , a shadowy figure of a man. My daughter always complained at age 4 that her bed shook at night, yet nothing happened if I shared a night with her to calm her to sleep.

One day when I looked into our dining room I saw a transparent figure that looked like the creature in those predator movies, creepy! You know, all cubic and transparent like glass.

We had a psychic visit our 4 year old and she told us that an earth bound spirit had attached itself to her. It never showed up again.

The second encounter was when we moved back to Sydney. We rented again and from day one I had felt, saw and heard footsteps walking up the stairs all night but no one was there.
Once again my children said they saw a figure as well as my 3 year old son told me a big black dog would sleep beside his bed. We had a dog but it slept out in the yard.

My friend said she did not like being downstairs because she sad someone had died in the house.

I always felt no fear until one morning when I was cleaning the room and I actually felt an icy cold body of air fly over my head. It was in a closed room with no wind. Even the birds we had freaked out and the cat ran away. I decided to tell the spirit that if this was its home they could share it with us, but it had to behave or I would have it removed.

Life settled down.

One afternoon my neighbor was chatting to me and told me about the ghost that was seen in our house, in fact the previous tenants were so scared that they moved out. She told me how one night her hubby was outside and he saw a man walking up the road in a grey work coat and just vanished.
Coloured orbs were seen with the naked eye as well as the bedroom lights would switch on and off. I would switch them back on to see them physically switch off again.

We now live in Queensland and I feel another presence in this house. I think it is my cat sooty and my father-in-law who died 6 years ago.

I find it all interesting and i'm not afraid at all.

I worked at an old diner a few years ago in the older part of my hometown. The buildings there are all two to three stories high, they are made of brick, and are built very close together; most of them are well over one hundred years old. Some of the buildings are actually connected to each other, but narrow alleys separate most.

The diner I worked at was connected to a building on the left and there was an alley between the diner and the building to the right. Behind all the buildings there are loading docks because at one point or another they were all businesses, so after we closed up for the night some of us would usually sit on the back porch to smoke, talk, or just chill.

One night, not long after I started working there I was out on the loading dock trying to get a signal on my cell phone when I heard footsteps coming down the alley. I didn't think much of it for a second or two but then I noticed something about the steps. They had a 'clack clack' sound that you hear with leather-soled shoes, and since it was about 11pm I found it quite odd that someone might be coming down the alley in their Sunday best at this time of night.
I hopped off the edge of the porch to look down the alley and when I touched the ground, the footsteps stopped. They did not go back toward the street, the just stopped. When I looked down the alley there was no one there. So I walked to the other end of the alley and looked up and down the sidewalk on the street, there was no one to be found. I was a little unnerved, but not scared so I went inside to tell the other guys what had just happened. Inside I told the night manager about what had just happened, afterward he sort of smiled and just asked "Really?" I thought he didn't believe me but I knew what I heard so I said "Yeah, really." He then told me one of the other guys who worked there (I'll call him Dave) had also heard something in the alley a few months ago!

The next time I worked with Dave I spoke to him about the footsteps and he confirmed that almost the exact same thing happened to him.

About a month went by before I experienced anything else near the alley, but one night after closing I was out on the back porch about to pour out some mop water when sure enough I heard "clack clack clack clack" coming down the alley. I stopped moving and tried to be as quiet as possible. I heard the footsteps get about halfway down the alley and stop. I waited about 30 seconds without hearing anything when suddenly I heard a heavy 'thud' in the alley. I craned my way around the corner of the building to see if I could see anything. However, I couldn't see anything in the alley, so I jumped off the porch and started down the alley, and still there was nothing there.

I stopped working at the diner about six weeks after my second and last experience with the footsteps, and I have not been back since. Not long afterwards, I was in the local public library when I recalled the footsteps and how in movies people used viewing machines at libraries to go through old newspapers. I decided I would see if the library had anything like that and if I could find any information about the footsteps. They did have newspaper archives on a computer, but unfortunately, after about two hours of searching I couldn't find anything in the local newspapers that would explain the footsteps.

To this day I have not found anything, but anytime I am in the library I do a little bit of searching. Hopefully one day I will have an answer as to who it is that never makes it through the alley.
